Frequently Asked Questions
Planning a journey is exciting—but it’s natural to have a few questions before getting started. Here’s what you can expect when working with Acorde Travel.
-
Acorde Travel specializes in cruises, Disney vacations, elevated hotels and resorts, custom leisure travel, and thoughtfully designed domestic and international journeys. Every trip begins with your interests, priorities, and preferred way of experiencing the world.
-
Not at all. Luxury is personal—it might mean a five-star resort, a private experience, more time together as a family, or simply having someone handle the details. Acorde Travel creates journeys across a range of styles and budgets, provided there is a strong fit between your vision and what we can thoughtfully deliver.
-
The internet can show you endless options; a trusted advisor helps you identify the right ones. I provide personalized recommendations, coordinate the moving pieces, advocate for you, and remain a point of contact throughout the planning process and your journey.
-
Absolutely not. You can arrive with a specific destination, a general idea, or simply a feeling you want the trip to create. Our initial conversation will help us turn that inspiration into a clear direction.
-
After reviewing your inquiry, I’ll invite you to schedule a 30-minute introductory conversation. We’ll discuss your travel style, priorities, budget, and vision. If we’re a good fit, I’ll begin researching and developing thoughtfully curated proposals for your consideration.
-
A professional planning fee may apply depending on the length, complexity, and level of research involved in your journey. If a fee applies, it will always be explained and agreed upon before any planning work begins—so there are no surprises.
-
Timing depends on the complexity of the journey and how far in advance you’re planning. After our consultation, I’ll provide a clear expectation for when you’ll receive your initial recommendations.
-
Air travel can be included when it makes sense for the journey. In some situations, I may recommend that you book airfare directly with the airline—particularly when using points, miles, or airline credits. We’ll discuss the best approach for your specific trip.
-
Eligible paid reservations can often include your existing loyalty number, but earning points, elite-night credit, and status benefits depends on the supplier, booking channel, and selected rate. I’ll help you understand what is—and isn’t—eligible before booking whenever possible.
Award reservations using points or miles will generally need to be completed directly through your loyalty account.
-
My goal is to find the best overall value, not simply the lowest number on the screen. That means considering the quality of the experience, flexibility, service, location, included amenities, and the support you receive if plans change.
-
Travel payments are processed securely and are typically charged directly by the hotel, cruise line, tour operator, or other travel supplier. When payment information is required, you’ll submit it through a secure authorization process—never through ordinary email or text.
-
Every reservation is subject to the individual supplier’s terms, cancellation policies, and applicable fees. I’ll clearly communicate those conditions before booking and help coordinate available changes or cancellations if your plans shift.
-
Yes. Travel can involve significant financial commitments and unexpected circumstances. I strongly recommend considering travel protection, and you’ll have the opportunity to review available coverage and formally accept or decline it before departure.
-
My service continues after your reservations are confirmed. I’ll help you prepare before departure and remain a point of contact should questions or unexpected issues arise. Your trip materials will include the appropriate supplier contacts and guidance for urgent or after-hours situations.
-
Proudly. Acorde Travel is committed to creating welcoming, respectful, and affirming experiences for LGBTQ+ travelers and families—while warmly serving anyone who values personalized, inclusive service.
-
Earlier is usually better, particularly for cruises, popular destinations, holiday travel, Disney vacations, and trips requiring several coordinated components. That said, opportunities can still exist for shorter timelines, so it never hurts to ask.
